Episode 048: How Do YOU Stay Inspired?

What keeps you inspired to move forward? Do you ever struggle to find motivation to start something new, or moreover, to keep grinding away as you slowly make progress on something? During this episode I break down some of the things that I use on a regular basis in my life to keep me motivated, inspired and determined to keep my crosshairs fixed on the target.

There are 5 things I constantly do week-in and week-out to stay focused. Sometimes these are things I do day-in and day-out. Just about anyone can deploy these or some minor variation of these to find a source to draw inspiration from. My 5 sources are:

  1. Family: My family is my life, period. My wife and son together are my rock and without out, I wouldn’t ever be able to stay as grounded as I do. Talking and interacting with them daily keeps me inspired and motivated to accomplish things in life and to stay ambitious.

  2. Brand Builders: As a brand-builder, I’m always interested in the strategies or tactics that other brand-builders (not necessarily fitness brands) deploy in order to propel their businesses to distant heights. I am able to find out details on these by digging away on social media for other brands and then I continue to keep digging to see what things were like before and after any major hiccups, roadblocks, or issues.

  3. Looking back on previous experiences, successes and failures. Everyone has something that occurred in their past that they can look back on and say “wow how the hell did I make it through that?” – drawing inspiration from this is one of my favorites.

  4. Alternatively from drawing inspiration from what lies ahead in the future is extremely powerful as well. Especially if you have put it all on the line and are holding yourself accountable as a result, you will be able to gain motivation simply from reminding yourself of that.

  5. Always stay anchored or grounded. I do this through fitness and exercising 4-5 days a week. Without this, I am not as sharp or thorough as I need to be sometimes. Your grounding technique may not be fitness or exercise, which is fine! Whatever it is, use that grounding technique as often as possible.

There are an infinite amount of ways to gain information and knowledge around what you are doing in order to stay inspired. What methods do you deploy? Whatever it is, make sure you do it often enough to NOT lose focus on a regular basis.
